JOYO Audio are  proud to reveal the new Signtaure pedal and  CD that form part of JOSÉ DE CASTRO 4 studio albums. In April 2014, the CD was released to the China music market, the  “Best of José de Castro for China”. The CD will be released in CD format only in China, but should be available on Itunes and Spotify in the near future.

To celebrate, Dr J and JOYO have created a signature Comp Driver Pedal designed with Jose. Demonstrated at the Music China Show in Shanghai 2014, it is a great pedal that takes the tone to another level, a classic sunburst effect .  

JOSÉ DE CASTRO (JOPI) (28-02-74), is best known as Jopi, he is a Spanish guitarist, producer and musical director. ""Now currently playing with the band that accompanies the famous Spanish singer Melendi.

From the city of Leganés in Madrid, he started in music studying classic guitar and many other music-related topics. When he was seventeen, José changed to electric guitar and started playing with a hard rock band called “Reina de Corazones”. In 2004 José recorded his second album, “Music Guitar Box”, where he was surrounded with great musicians such as Simon Phillips and Melvin Lee Davis, and other musicians from the Spanish music scene as Maurizio Sgaramella, Denis Bilanin and Enzo Filippone.

In 2012 his fifth work was released with the name of “Moments” again working with Enzo Filippone and José Vera. This is the first album that is recorded in his own studio “JDC ESTUDIOS”. The mixes were made by Ron Saint Germain and the mastering by Joe Gastwirt.

Since 2010 José has his own recording studio “JDC ESTUDIOS” in his hometown Leganés, where he produces a great number of recordings and productions for different artists and bands. With his own music he has shared stage with great guitarists such as Joe Satriani, Michael Landau, Scott Henderson, Paul Gilbert, Guthrie Govan, Richard Hallebeck, Reb Beach, Mattias IA Eklundh amongst many others.

S"Joseince 2012, Jose is an artist of the prestigious brand Fender.

In November 2012 his first book “Guitarra para torpes” was published. The book is edited by Editorial Anaya and belongs to the collection “para torpes” (For Dummies) with illustrations by Forges.

Jopi takes part in the TV show “Generación Rock” for TVE-1, where together with Melendi and Reichel he forms a rock band with 15 persons, all of them older than 70 years old. The TV show is broadcast on TVE-1 Spanish public TV.

During October 2013, Jopi performed a series of gigs in China with the guitar effect brands MOOER and JOYO.

Because of the success of his concerts there, JOYO Audio have produced a CD with songs that are part of his 4 studio albums. In April 2014, the CD was released to the China music market, the  “Best of José de Castro for China”. The CD will hopefully be available on Spotify and Itunes soon.
